Team News - June 2018
In this edition, we had a brief chat with the newest interns
on the Weststar team and we have summed up their few months’ experiences with
the brand in just a few lines.
Ikenna Nwankwo joined Weststar Associates Limited as an
intern from his school’s industrial training programme which will run for 6
months. He was thrilled at the opportunity to train at Weststar because of his
love for the Mercedes-Benz brand and when a friend gave him a recommendation,
he made sure to take the opportunity. He pointed out that he has been provided
with knowledge and skills that he never thought possible since joining the
company; from servicing, maintenance, repairs, diagnostics, replacement of
parts and more. For Ikenna, this experience has increased his capability in
mechanical and electrical engineering, his course of study in University.
His favorite Mercedes-Benz model when asked, is the G-Class,
because of his natural love for SUVs. In His opinion, the G-Class is a very
powerful automobile - able to conquer in any terrain.
Azeez Faida Olajumoke recently joined the Workshop team on
an industrial attachment from the University of Ilorin. Currently studying
Agriculture and Bio Systems Engineering, Faida points out that her training at
Weststar will benefit her knowledge in different aspects of her course of study
like; Farm Power and Machinery and this was a deciding factor for her in
choosing a place for her industrial training. She also explains that in school
she had a lot of theoretical knowledge of most of the things she was being
taught, and she felt she needed more practical knowledge, something she has
begun benefitting since joining Weststar. Her experience so far has also seen
her gain first-hand knowledge from the experts in the workshop and she
mentioned how comfortable everyone on the team made her feel around them.
Faida’s favorite Mercedes-Benz model is the Actros, an
unlikely choice which she has gone for, because of the size and power.
